Implementation of the Web archiving directive

§ The directive is effective since March 31, 2011. § It applies to “static Web content” that resides on the Website and that is published under the Statistics Act. 2 Statistics Canada • Statistique Canada 2021 -09 -10

3 categories of Web content § current content: • will be displayed prominently; § archived content: • will be clearly identified as “archived” and retained online; § and the legacy content: • Will no longer be accessible from the site and will be provided to users upon request. Key rules § The Daily and data publications are automatically archived 2 years after release. § Analytical publications and research papers are automatically archived 5 years after release. § Census information, including Geographical Census related products and Census of agriculture, are automatically archived 15 years after release. 4 Statistics Canada • Statistique Canada 2021 -09 -10

Author Divisions may also identify additional content for archival or removal by submitting the Request for Removal of Legacy Content to the Director of Dissemination. 5 Statistics Canada • Statistique Canada 2021 -09 -10
