Impact of drug abuse Ø Drug have different effects on adolescents, it depends on types of drug, doses of drug, dependency on drugs and many other things. Taking drugs not only effect the mental and physical health rather it destroy the whole life. Ø Some drug will make feel more awake, alert and energetic. Others will give calm, relaxed feeling. Some alter perceptions and can cause hallucinations. Others may make feel numb. Ø Long-term use and larger doses have negative effects that can seriously harm persons health , even cause death, including disease risks from sharing needles, and permanent damage to the brain and other organs.

We can see the effect of drug in different areas which are explain below: 1) Mental health related issues- Drug use increases risk of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and psychosis. 2)Physical health related issues- over doses of drug has hamper the physical immunity. 3) Financial issues- If someone takes drug in regular basis either someone depends on drug it will increase their financial crisis.

There can increased risk of injury or assault of oneself and other people. 5)Legal issues- Many drugs are illegally intake by some adolescents which is further cause by arrests for disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, or stealing to support a drug habit.

Continue…. 6) Neglecting responsibility: -drug abusing persons neglect their responsibilities at school, work, home. 7) Effects of sportsperson- Sports people and professional athletes who use illegal substances risk damaging not only their physical health, but also their reputation and the integrity of their sport.
