Immunity definition immunity is the balanced state of multicellular organisms having adequate biological defenses to fight infection, disease, or other unwanted biological invasion, while having adequate tolerance to avoid allergy, and autoimmune diseases.

Types of Immunity divided in tow types : 1. Innate (Natural) Immunity. 2. Adaptive (Acquired) Immune System. Active Immunity Passive Immunity
Types of Immunity Innate (Natural) Immunity It is the natural resistance components such as intact skin, salivary enzymes, and neutrophils, natural killer cells, which provide an initial response against infection that is present in an individual at birth prior to exposure to a pathogen or antigen.
Types of Immunity Adaptive (Acquired) Immune System : It is that which develops antibodies after an attack of an infectious disease or by a pregnant mother passing through the placenta to a fetus or by vaccination.

Immune system definition The immune system is a host defense system comprising many biological structures and processes within an organism that protects against disease.

Immune system function The role of the immune system — a collection of structures and processes within the body — is to protect against disease or other potentially damaging foreign bodies. When functioning properly, the immune system identifies a variety of threats, including viruses, bacteria and parasites, and distinguishes them from the body's own healthy tissue.

Organs of immune system The organs of the immune system are positioned throughout the body. They are called lymphoid organs because they are home to lymphocytes, small white blood cells that are the key players in the immune system.
Organs of immune system There are two groups of immune system organs : Primary (central) organs Secondary (peripheral) organs
Organs of immune system Primary (central) organs Primary (central)--organs where immature lymphocytes develop : Thymus Bone marrow
Organs of immune system Secondary (peripheral) organs Secondary (peripheral)--tissues where antigen is localized so that it can be effectively exposed to mature lymphocytes : Lymph nodes Appendix Peyer's Patches (of GI tract) Tonsils Adenoids Spleen
