WHAT IS “OFF-CAMPUS WORK/EMPLOYMENT”? “Employment" is work performed in exchange for compensation. § Compensation includes lodging, meals, transportation, gift certificates, or other remuneration. § It is advised that students obtain CPT authorization for all unpaid/volunteer internships/practicum § Before accepting any kind of employment, be sure to email or meet with Becky Adams in CGE. § Note: Most off-campus employment opportunities generally require you to have completed one academic year to be eligible to apply for authorization unless your program requires immediate participation in externship.
