IMAGINATIVE AND CREATIVE MOTIVATED IMAGINATIVE AND RESILIENT CREATIVE Pupils take part in Imagineering activity linked to a journey through The Amazon Rainforest. Pupils undertake independent research activities at home about geographical features of Brazil. Pupils will taste food from Brazil as well as follow a Brazilian recipe. Pupils undertake independent research activities at home about deforestation. Pupils will take part in their own Brazilian carnival. Pupils are enthusiastic to find out their own facts and build upon what they are learning in class. Pupils are keen to suggest their own ideas for own Brazilian recipes and carnival KNOWLEDGE SEEKER AND KEEPER Pupils can talk about the physical and human geographical features of Brazil. Pupils have a secure understanding of the different layers that make up a rainforest. Pupils can talk about the climate in The Amazon and compare it with the climate of the UK. Pupils can explain the impact that deforestation is having on The Amazon Rainforest and the rest of the world. RESEPECTFUL AND CARING Pupils appreciate the impact that deforestation is having on the animals and indigenous people of The Amazon as well as the rest of the world. Pupils appreciate food from different cultures by tasting food from Brazil and evaluating it and comparing it with food in the UK. Pupils appreciate how difficult life is for people living in favelas in Brazil. COMMUNICATOR AND COLLABORATOR Pupils work in groups to research specific areas linked to Brazil and The Amazon Rainforest. Pupils to create a presentation to share their findings with the rest of the class. Pupils to compare their work with each other and peer assess.
