Use artefacts from Sutton Hoo and Staffordshire Hoard to collect information. Research the development of Christianity by St Augustine. Arrange a visit to the Jorvik museum to complete a workshop about the take over of York. MOTIVATED IMAGINATIVE AND RESILIENT CREATIVE Pupils undertake research project at home about Saxon and/or Viking boats. Pupils are interested in finding out their own facts and sharing them with the rest of the class. Opportunities to share work they are proud of. Create a profile a strong Saxon and Viking leader. RESEPECTFUL AND CARING Consider why people moved and the challenges they faced – decide if a reason is a pull or push. Compare the differences between Saxons, Vikings and Scots and why they made different choices. Consider the reliability of different myths and legends such as Hengist, Horsa and Beowolf.
