Online Test Timing Guidance • Social Studies Field Test – 60 minutes Test. Nav will not shut off on students once time is up. KDE guidance has been that if students are working diligently, allow them to work beyond the stated time limits. Kentucky Pearson. Access next Training 4

Specific Steps to Prepare for Operational Online Testing 9
Social Studies Field Test Accommodations • The following accommodations will be available for the Field Test: • Large Print (Paper) • Braille (Paper) • Text to Speech (Online) • Students using paper accommodations will be tested using a test book and a student response booklet (SRB). The accommodation kits for these students will be ordered in Pearson. Accessnext via the additional order screen. • Materials will be available for students that require a human reader but all requests need to be approved through KDE. Kentucky Pearson. Social Studies Field Test Large Print and Braille Accommodations Kits The Large Print and Braille test materials will be provided in kits. The kits will contain the following: • Large Print Kit – large print test booklet, regular test book/student response booklet, accommodation memo • UEB and/or Nemeth Braille Kit – Braille test booklet, regular test book/student response booklet accommodation memo Kentucky Pearson. Ordering Accommodated Test Kits • All accommodated test kits will be ordered via additional orders. • You may order accommodated test materials from March 16, 2021 through June 14, 2021. • The process for ordering accommodated test materials is included in the Pearson. Social Studies Field Test Text to Speech For Spring 2021 the Text Reader Accommodation is being replaced with Online Text to Speech (TTS) functionality. The TTS functionality will be online, and students will be placed into test sessions. In order for the student to receive the TTS functionality it will need to be turned on in Pearson. Accessnext. To setup a student for TTS the DAC/BAC will have two options; 1) The DAC/BAC can enter the information into Pearson. Accessnext 2) The DAC/BAC can export a file from Pearson. Accessnext, make updates to the student record on the file, and import the file back into Pearson. Accessnext. Kentucky Pearson. Access next Training 13
Turning on Text to Speech To turn on the TTS functionality in Pearson. Accessnext there are two boxes, shown below, that will need to be checked. As mentioned on the previous slide, there are two ways for the DACs/BACs to check the boxes. One option will be to go into the User Interface and go to each student’s record and select the boxes. The other option will be to export a file, then indicate on the file which students need TTS, then import the file in to Pearson. Access next. Since this is a new process, Pearson is creating specific instructions for both options and those instructions will be available in early March. Orders & Shipment Tracking You use Orders & Shipment Tracking to order your paper accommodated materials kits. Create Test Sessions • You can begin to create test sessions on March 16, 2021. • You will need to create Test Sessions for Social Studies in Grades 5, 8, & 11 • There are specific instructions on Creating Test Sessions located on the KY Portal. • Click on the Pearson. Prepare Test Sessions • All sessions must be prepared before they can be started. Preparing the session assigns the correct test form to each student within the session. • You can start to prepare your test sessions one to two weeks before testing. • There are specific instructions on Printing Student Testing Tickets and Seal Codes located on the KY Portal. • Click on the Pearson. Printing Student Testing Tickets and Seal Codes • Each student must have a student testing ticket to sign into an online test. Each testing ticket contains the student’s unique username and password. • The testing tickets, rosters, and seal codes are secure documents and must be kept in a secure location until the test is administered. Testing tickets and seal codes should be printed at least one week prior to testing. • Each student will have a testing tickets for each content that they are taking. Each testing ticket is unique to each student and each session so they must be used for the correct session. • You will also need to print out the Seal Codes are unique, four-digit numbers, that are used to control student access to each test section. • The seal codes can be written on a white board so all students can clearly see what the codes are for each part of the test. Starting Test Sessions and Student Testing • All sessions must be started in Pearson. Accessnext before students can log into Test. Nav. You can start sessions one at a time or you can start multiple sessions at the same time • There are specific instructions on Starting Test Sessions located on the KY Portal, under the Pearson. Starting Sessions and Student Testing • Be sure that the student testing tickets for each session are kept separate. • Each time you hand out the student testing tickets have each student verify that their name is the name on the ticket. • Students will launch the Test. Nav app from their device (desktop, laptop, tablet, i. Pad, Chromebook). • After the app is launched the Test. Nav sign in screen will appear. Starting Session and Student Testing • The students will then see the Student Honor Code. They will have to check the box in order to move forward. • After the honor code will be the seal code. The Test Administrator will write the seal code on the white board. • Once students enter the seal code, they will then be able to start testing. • When students are done testing make sure that they submit their answers and exit out of Test. Student Transfers and New Students • Students that move or transfer into your district/school will need to be tested. • For students that transfer to a new district/school will be handled using a Work Request process in Pearson. Accessnext. The process involves the DAC from where the student is coming and the DAC from where the student is testing. • The Work Request process will be in the Test Administration Manual, it is also included on the next slide. Work Request Process v. Request Enrollment Transfer To move a student to your district/school, you must send a request to the student’s current district/school. Link to training module: https: //support. assessment. pearson. com/display/PAsup/Request+Enrollment+Transfer ‒ On PAN from the Setup, select Work Requests. ‒ Click Select Tasks, select Request/Delete Enrollment Transfer, and click Start. ‒ Type and select the student details to search for a student to transfer and click Search. Fill in the required fields with the exact information that the student file contains. ‒ Under Change Enrollment To, select the organization to which you want to transfer the student. ‒ Click Send Request. v. Authorize Enrollment Transfer Used to move a student from your district/school, you must authorize the transfer request from the new district. Student Transfers and New Students (Outside KY Public Schools) • Students that are new to your District/School and are not coming from another District/School in Kentucky will need to be manually added into Pearson. Accessnext. • To add a new student, click on “Setup” then select “Students” from the drop-down menu. Then in “Select Tasks” click on “Create/Edit Students” and then on “Start”. Here you will enter the information for the student. • After the student is entered into the system they will need to be registered. Since this student is new, they will not have a content already assigned. In these cases, you can select any content that you want when assigning the student’s grade level content tests when registering the student for the test. Kentucky Pearson. Access next Training 31
