IID and the Case Management Plan • A client is required to complete a Case management Plan once they have received a 2 nd violation with the Ignition Interlock device. • To review, a client can receive a 2 nd violation if one of these violations occur: • • 2 Fails (within a 4 hour period) Retest failed, refused or not completed properly Power disconnect (more than 15 minutes) Tampering with or circumventing the device

IID and the Case Management Plan • New Ancillary Fee • An ancillary fee for Monthly Compliance Monitoring for 2 nd and subsequent IID violators has been approved. • The ancillary fee is approved at the amount of $20. 00. • This fee is approved for IID clients who require monthly monitoring appointments following the development of an individualized Case Management Plan due to two or more IID violations.

Ignition Interlock and Case Planning • When holding a periodic update for 2 nd violation stress to the client compliance with the IID plan is governed by the DUI program not the IID vendor. – All readings are significant and should be addressed in Periodic Updates. – Focus on ways the client can prevent positive readings, not the what “caused” the reading. (too many reasons and not enough time) – Provide means for the client to prove that readings were not the result of consumed alcohol. – Consider revising requirements to coincide with patterns of readings.
