IID and the Case Management Plan Goals and Objectives • Know the “when and why” of creating the Case management Plan • Case Management Fees • The 2 nd violation IID appointment
IID and the Case Management Plan • A client is required to complete a Case management Plan once they have received a 2 nd violation with the Ignition Interlock device. • To review, a client can receive a 2 nd violation if one of these violations occur: • • 2 Fails (within a 4 hour period) Retest failed, refused or not completed properly Power disconnect (more than 15 minutes) Tampering with or circumventing the device
IID and the Case Management Plan • Client receives a letter stating a 2 nd violation has occurred. • Client makes an appointment with the DUI Program. • Client receives a Case Management Plan. • Client attends monthly appointments until program completion.
IID and the Case Management Plan • Client pays $55. 00 for the initial appointment. • Client pays $45. 00 monthly until program completion. • Complete IID Interview form HSMV Form 77136.
IID and the Case Management Plan • New Ancillary Fee • An ancillary fee for Monthly Compliance Monitoring for 2 nd and subsequent IID violators has been approved. • The ancillary fee is approved at the amount of $20. 00. • This fee is approved for IID clients who require monthly monitoring appointments following the development of an individualized Case Management Plan due to two or more IID violations.
IID and the Case Management Plan • This ancillary fee should be charged during the first monthly monitoring appointment for an IID client after the development of a Case Management Plan, and subsequent monthly monitoring appointments. • This ancillary fee must be listed separately on the client payment receipt.
IID and the Case Management Plan • New Ancillary Fee does not apply when: • When IID clients have already de-installed their IID at the time of their second violation appointment. • SSS clients with an Ignition Interlock Device. • IID clients who are on monthly monitoring due to medical waivers.
Ignition Interlock and Case Planning • When holding a periodic update for 2 nd violation stress to the client compliance with the IID plan is governed by the DUI program not the IID vendor. – All readings are significant and should be addressed in Periodic Updates. – Focus on ways the client can prevent positive readings, not the what “caused” the reading. (too many reasons and not enough time) – Provide means for the client to prove that readings were not the result of consumed alcohol. – Consider revising requirements to coincide with patterns of readings.
