Brian “BJ” Johnson • Club has been blessed with leadership of Joe Sochacki, John Simmonds, Phil Presser • US Soccer landscape changing • Club the size of IFJ needs to be on leading edge • Club goals are to compete nationally every year (we already have a number of teams ranked !)

Technical Director • BJ brings unique skill set to the club – Played and coached in the MLS – Played and coached for US National team – Coached at collegiate level – Best Practice experience at a high level • BJ will drive excellence in to the coaching staff and curriculum of the club

US Soccer Changes • Adding u 12 boys DA program (26 players) • Adding u 13 boys DA program (18 players) • Adding u 15 boys DA program/pre DA program (18 players) • Increased coaching license requirement – all sideline staff must have a B license

Birth Year Change • Effective at Tryouts this year- age groups will be determined by birth year • USYS simple calculation to determine your child's age group – (Year of State cup Finals) subtract (year of child’s birth) – For 2017, if your child was born in 2000, 2017 -2000=your child is in the 17 and under age group

Playing Format Changes • • 8 and under- 4 v 4 10 and under- 7 v 7 12 and under- 9 v 9 20 and under- 11 v 11 – Looking into small sided league play for 15 and under not in high school for fall – Looking into combining 18/19 group • Finalizing goal sizes and field sizes- all are grandfathered in for 2016/2017 season

Playing Changes • New Head Ball Rules– 10 and under are prohibited from heading the ball in games and practices – 12 and under are limited to the amount of time allowable at practice, are allowed to head balls in games – Staff working on proper ways to teach technique • Concussion protocol coming

Club News • Fire and Ice Ball a success! – Thanks to all teams/members that contributed • Tournaments – Second Turf Classic March 18, 19, 20 – Boys Crossroads Event April 15, 16, 17 • College games- Friday 8 pm Butler vs IU • Saturday 5 pm Notre Dame vs Kentucky • Saturday 7 pm Marian vs IPFW – Girls Crossroads Event April 22, 23, 24 • College games – Friday 7 pm IU vs Miami (OH) • Saturday 7 pm Marian vs De. Pauw

Club News • IFJ partnering with Indy Eleven for NPSL team – US Open cup first week of May – Friendly against Indy Eleven – New stadium at Grand Park • Spots still available for all Senior boys and girls for trip to Italy: July 1 -July 10 • Office update- Indy Eleven took over HQ
