1. Young adolescents: You can’t live with them, and you can’t live without them.

1. Young adolescents: You can’t live with them, and you can’t live without them. 2. Peers become more influential, but parents will always be the greatest influence. 3. After puberty they look older, but they are still very young and inexperienced. 4. Parenting is a full-time job , but take breaks to have fun and to listen without judging. 5. Young adolescents need opportunities for independence , but they need boundaries too. 6. Teenagers make poor choices and mistakes, but never make them feel they are bad people. 7. Set the bar high , but don’t be disappointed when they are unable to reach your expectations. 8. Always believe in your child , but you cannot always believe your child. 9. While you must teach them to look ahead , few decisions now are life-altering. 10. Your children will heed you, they’re just not on the same timetable. One day they too will say. . . “I sound just like my mother or father. ”
