Coming out of very simple times, civilizations started to emerge for the first time. Leaders stood up and began to think about other people and how the human race could have a better life. They wondered about law and order. They thought about curing people with medicine. They wanted a peaceful life for all citizens.
Why live in caves when we can live in great structures that protect us from the wind and rain! People should have rights. People should have a government to help them. Life shouldn’t be all work – there’s music and theatre to entertain us. Life is great for those of us at the top!

The land was divided up by Aboriginal area
Looking for silks and spices, explorers thought they landed in India.
In grade 7 the focus was Europeans settling in New France.
