If You Believe and I Believe Traditional Song

“If You Believe and I Believe” Traditional Song from Zimbabwe CCLI #3273104

If you believe and I believe and we together pray, the Holy Spirit must come down and set God’s people free,

and set God’s people free, and set God’s people free; the Holy Spirit must come down and set God’s people free.

“I Surrender All” Music by W. S. Weeden Lyrics by J. W. Van Deventer CCLI #23189

All to Jesus I surrender; all to him I freely give; I will ever love and trust him, in his presence daily live.

I surrender all, (I surrender all) all to thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender; humbly at his feet I bow; worldly pleasures all forsaken; take me, Jesus, take me now.

I surrender all, (I surrender all) all to thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender; make me, Savior, wholly thine; let me feel the Holy Spirit; truly know that thou art mine.

I surrender all, (I surrender all) all to thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender; Lord, I give myself to thee; fill me with thy love and power; let thy blessing fall on me.

I surrender all, (I surrender all) all to thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender; now I feel the sacred flame. O the joy of full salvation! Glory, glory to his name!

I surrender all, (I surrender all) all to thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.

Passing the Peace

“This Little Light of Mine” 1989, United Methodist Publishing House CCLI #xxxxxx

This little light of mine, I’m goin’a let it shine, this little light of mine, I’m goin’a let it shine;

This little light of mine, I’m goin’a let it shine, let it shine.

Matthew 25: 14 -30 Common English Bible

Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who was leaving on a trip. He called his servants and handed his possessions over to them. To one he gave five valuable coins, and to another he gave two, and to another he gave one. He gave to each servant according to that servant’s ability.

Then he left on his journey. After the man left, the servant who had five valuable coins took them and went to work doing business with them. He gained five more. In the same way, the one who had two valuable coins gained two more.

But the servant who had received the one valuable coin dug a hole in the ground and buried his master’s money. Now after a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The one who had received five valuable coins came forward with five additional coins.

Look, I’ve gained five more. ’ “His master replied, ‘Excellent! You are a good and faithful servant! You’ve been faithful over a little. I’ll put you in charge of much. Come, celebrate with me. ’ The second servant also came forward and said, ‘Master, you gave me two valuable coins. Look, I’ve gained two more. ’

His master replied, ‘Well done! You are a good and faithful servant. You’ve been faithful over a little. I’ll put you in charge of much. Come, celebrate with me. ’ Now the one who had received one valuable coin came and said, ‘Master, I knew that you are a hard man. You harvest grain where you haven’t sown.

You gather crops where you haven’t spread seed. So I was afraid. And I hid my valuable coin in the ground. Here, you have what’s yours. ’ His master replied, ‘You evil and lazy servant! You knew that I harvest grain where I haven’t sown and that I gather crops where I haven’t spread seed?

In that case, you should have turned my money over to the bankers so that when I returned, you could give me what belonged to me with interest. Therefore, take from him the valuable coin and give it to the one who has ten coins. Those who have much will receive more, and they will have more than they need.

But as for those who don’t have much, even the little bit they have will be taken away from them. Now take the worthless servant and throw him outside into the darkness. ’ People there will be weeping and grinding their teeth. ”

Everywhere I go, I’m goin’a let it shine, everywhere I go, I’m goin’a let it shine;

Everywhere I go, I’m goin’a let it shine, let it shine.

Luke 19: 12 -28 from The Message

Jesus said, “There was once a man descended from a royal house who needed to make a long trip back to headquarters to get authorization for his rule and then return. But first he called ten servants together, gave them each a sum of money, and instructed them, ‘Operate with this until I return. ’

But the citizens there hated him. So they sent a commission with a signed petition to oppose his rule: ‘We don’t want this man to rule us. ’ When he came back bringing the authorization of his rule, he called those ten servants to whom he had given the money to find out how they had done.

The first said, ‘Master, I doubled your money. ’ He said, ‘Good servant! Great work! Because you’ve been trustworthy in this small job, I’m making you governor of ten towns. ’ The second said, ‘Master, I made a fifty percent profit on your money. ’ He said, ‘I’m putting you in charge

The next servant said, ‘Master, here’s your money safe and sound. I kept it hidden in the cellar. To tell you the truth, I was a little afraid. I know you have high standards and hate

He said, ‘You’re right that I don’t suffer fools gladly — and you’ve acted the fool! Why didn’t you at least invest the money in securities so I would have gotten a little interest on it? ’ Then he said to those standing there, ‘Take the money from him

They said, ‘But Master, he already has double. ’ He said, ‘That’s what I mean: Risk your life and get more than you ever dreamed of. Play it safe and end up holding the bag. As for these enemies of mine who petitioned against my rule, clear

Use it or Lose it

All through the night, I’m goin’a let it shine, all through the night, I’m goin’a let it shine;

All through the night, I’m goin’a let it shine, let it shine.

Statement of Faith LEADER: Here in this sanctuary, ALL: We remember, O God, your gift of life to each of us; and we seek to carry it to the streets ―

wherever there is death and violence, wherever there is grief and loss. Here in this sanctuary, We remember, O God, your invitation to belong and find shelter; and we seek to carry it to the streets –

wherever there is loneliness and rejection, wherever there is homelessness and people are displaced. Here in this sanctuary, We remember, O God, your invitation to belong and find shelter; and we seek to carry it to the streets –

wherever there is lawlessness or tyranny, wherever three is corruption and oppression. Here in this sanctuary, we remember, O God, your sacrifice ofto love and mercy; and we seek carry it to the streets –

wherever there is hatred and evil, wherever there is hopelessness, regret and guilt. Here in this sanctuary, where we remember all that you have done for us, O God, we remember also your call to live what we sing and pray.

And so we commit ourselves again to carry our worship from the sanctuary to the streets. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
