IENG 248 Submission Instructions To submit your team’s term project, do the following steps: ® ® ® ® ® 6/5/2021 Open the F: drive from your computer Go to the folder labeled tmpfiles Go to the folder labeled IENG 248 Term Projects Create/find the folder with your team name, and open it Copy all of the following files into the folder: n Each individual part file n Each individual drawing file n Any assembly file(s) n All the. Thing files for 3 -D printing n Any other files that your team wishes to submit for grading Send an e-mail to the instructor with the following subject: IENG Final Project – and add your team name at the end In the body of the e-mail text: n List each team member and the part files / drawings / etc. that they created for the project – one student per line. IENG 248 Project Components ® Printing the Feller-Buncher Toy: n Start with good Solid. Works Model l If it won’t assemble in Solid. Works, it won’t assemble in 3 -D l Printing overhangs is a problem – handle in Makerbot Desktop l Create an STL model of each component n Create an. STL model of each component needed l File > Save As l Use File Type pull-down to find. STL (middle of list) l Store on a jump drive n Parts Needed: l All (pick BEST ONE of the common) parts of the design packet l One end effector from each team member, if doing the bonus l All parts require an STL file ® Put a copy of each file onto a jump drive ® Orient & nest the parts in Makerbot Desktop ® Save the nested parts – and settings as. IENG 248 Assignments ® Makerbot Steps (Outline) on Printer Tablet n Open each. STL file in Makerbot Desktop l Scale inches to mm if not designed in mm to start with l Nest parts near the center of the platform for accuracy ® Use Rotate Objects button to select best orientation ® Use Move Objects button (and On Platform button) to locate near to, but not overlapping, other parts n Use Settings tab to prepare to print l Avoid overhangs if possible, but if not, ® Turn on supports ® Turn rafts off (if needed) ® Save file as.
