Presentation • Introducing the VMARC • From unmet need to innovation – the journey

Introducing the VMARC https: //youtu. be/v. H 9 r. ULs-hg. E

Procurement result Targets of Erasmus MC Achieved results Initially: • 70. 000 beds/year • Significant reduction of CO 2 • Significant reduction TCO Additional after contract awarding • Clean: as manual cleaning • Validated proces • WIP guidelines • 2 VMARC; both produce a clean bed every 5 minutes • 65% reduction CO 2 • 17 times cleaner than manual cleaning • Validated and controlled • 40% reduction TCO • Redefining washable beds

Automated cleaning is preferred by hygienists because: • The cleaning procedure, of constant quality, can be validated and reproduced; • It is more effective because higher temperatures can be used; • The physical burden on employees is reduced significantly.

VMARC Facts • Combination of existing technologies • Precision robots • Thorough and efficient • Economical en sustainable • Validated process • New standard of cleanliness; reduction of 95% • 10 litre water is reduced to 6, 6 litre osmosis water of 65°; without detergents

VMARC Facts • Also suitable for IV poles, wheelchairs or equipment trolleys • Tailor-made programme • Temperature • Time • Additions • Safe en user-friendly • Management information is available • Integration of track and trace

VMARC process • Input • Identification by QR code • Check of parameters • Cleaning • Matrass is lifted with vacuum • Robot washes and dries with tailor made programme • Output • Matrass is put back on bed • Bed can immediately made up

From unmet need tot innovation The innovation procurement journey

Procurement process • • Challenges Results Benefits Critical success factors

Challenges • Defining the result • Outputspecifications • ATP testing method • FAT / SAT • TCO/CO 2; Sense check by TNO • Different parties, different interests • IMS Medical becomes IMS Innovations (an unfamiliar player in the business)

Results • A higher standard of cleanliness • Innovative and sustainable solution that guarantees constant and controlled cleaning quality • Better (technical) solutions by jointly development • Reduction of TCO and CO 2 footprint

Benefits • The solution is better suitable for the client and future clients • The machine is flexible, easy to adjust for specific needs • Best technical solution, because of less restrictions • Opportunies for other (innovative) suppliers

Critical succes factors • • • Confidence in a good outcome (and patience) Collaboration between supplier and client Development is an on-going process During discussion; back to basic Good project management
