Purpose 802. 17 -2004 defines a Resilient Packet Ring Access Protocol for use in Local, Metropolitan and Wide Area Networks for transfer of data packets at rates scalable to many gigabits per second 802. 17 b amends 802. 17 -2004 and extends the class of frame types and device types that can achieve spatial reuse to significantly improve bandwidth efficiency on Resilient Packet Rings. 7/12/2004 IEEE 802. 17 RPRWG Mike Takefman
