IDAS™ Remote Communicator The RC-FS 10 Remote Communicator Ø The RC-FS 10 Remote Communicator

IDAS™ Remote Communicator The RC-FS 10 Remote Communicator Ø The RC-FS 10 Remote Communicator creates an IP-connected virtual radio(dispatcher) on a Windows PC which may be located anywhere an appropriate IP connection is available. Ø Up to eight virtual radios can be IP-connected to a repeater. Ø The RC-FS 10 consists of the CT-24 USB VOCODER unit and a virtual radio Windows PC software. Ø The CT-24 has an ESN which can be used for identification of a unit. The PC software will not work if the CT-24 is not connected. Ø The CT-23 desktop microphone adapter for SM-25. Application Examples q. Communication Link for Locations Separated by Distance Farm Site IP Network Milk Factory Site Benefits: • No expensive microwave link or UHF/VHF link is required • No sound quality degradation • No long delay in a multi-hop link • Up to 16 sites can be linked “STEP UP and GROW” with Icom

Application Examples q. In-Building / Intra-Building Network IP Network Basement Benefits: • Easy installation

Application Examples q. In-Building / Intra-Building Network IP Network Basement Benefits: • Easy installation and no limitation of communication range by building height • Already laid LAN cables can be used • The dispatcher can be anywhere • No sound quality degradation “STEP UP and GROW” with Icom

Application Examples q. Remote Base/Remote Dispatch in Base Mode Repeater Site Solar Panel IP

Application Examples q. Remote Base/Remote Dispatch in Base Mode Repeater Site Solar Panel IP Network Wind Turbine Dispatcher (Remote Communicator) Operation: • The uplinked voice from a terminal radio will not be repeated but sent only to the assigned virtual radio / dispatcher via IP. • Uplink from the virtual radio /dispatcher will be down-linked from all of the repeaters. • This mode can be used in cases where communications between terminals is not intended. Benefits: • Saves the unnecessary transmission / power consumption by disabling the repeat function • Secure communication with the dispatcher from a terminal radio • The dispatcher can control the entire communication “STEP UP and GROW” with Icom

Application Examples q. Receiver Voting Repeater Site (Tx & Rx) Receiver Site C (Rx

Application Examples q. Receiver Voting Repeater Site (Tx & Rx) Receiver Site C (Rx only* ) IP Network Receiver Site A (Rx only*) Receiver Site B Dispatcher Benefits: (Rx only* ) (Remote Communicator) • Expand the communication coverage area of terminals, but especially handheld radios. Seamless connection within the coverage area • The dispatcher can be anywhere • Easy to establish a Receiver Voting system • No extra voter is required. The Network Controller at repeater site acts as the voter Note: A receive only repeater is not available therefore a standard repeater is setup as the receiver for this application. “STEP UP and GROW” with Icom
