WINDOWS DESKTOP This is DESKTOP Desktop is an area on a computer screen in where icons of files & folders are arranged in systematic manner. This is the first screen that appears after switch on the computer.

Important Features of DESKTOP Icon Wallpaper An ICON is a small labelled pictures or symbols present on desktop. When you double-click an icon, the associated file or folder or program will be opened. Desktop WALLPAPER is an image behind the area where menus, icons are displayed. It is also known as the desktop picture or desktop background.

Important Features of DESKTOP Start button Taskbar The TASKBAR is the thin strip that runs across the bottom of your screen. The START BUTTON is placed at the extreme left on the taskbar. Clicking on start button, it display a pop-up menu of various program of the computer.

Restoring Deleted Files • The word “Restore" means to return something to its previous condition. • We can restore files from which we have deleted from our computer. • We can retrieve a file from Recycle Bin. – Select the file which will be restore and the either click Restore this item button on the top bar of recycle bin window or right click and select Restore. – If we want to restore every item currently in the recycle bin the we have to click on Restore all items button at the top of recycle bin window.
