The Nairobi Summit: • Convened by the Government of Kenya and UNFPA, co-hosted by the Government of Denmark • A high-level conference to accelerate the groundbreaking promise of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) • An inclusive platform, bringing together a wide • The landmark for sexual and reproductive health and rights, which will set the agenda for the next 10 years towards 2030 within the context of the SDGs 2 Strategic Partnerships Branch range of stakeholders to agree on actions and present commitments
Expected Outcomes from the Nairobi Summit: • Obtain political reaffirmation of the importance of the ICPD agenda and its contribution toward Agenda 2030 • Garner financial and political commitments to advance implementation of the ICPD agenda • Reinvigorate a multi-stakeholder SRHR coalition and movement to finish the unfinished business of Cairo 3 Strategic Partnerships Branch • Create robust links to UNFPA’s strategic plan to: end unmet need for family planning, end preventable maternal deaths and end harmful practices against women and girls
