Remote SCF Status • Remote SCF servers delivered and installed • System Administration – Omni. Back II automated backups run regularly – HP-UX patch upgrades will be performed regularly by m. SCF personnel • security patches as needed • other patches quarterly • r. SCF will be notified prior to any patching requiring rebooting – OPENSSH upgraded to latest version – DO NOT REMOVE OR RECONFIGURE SOFTWARE AS IT IS REQUIRED FOR SCF SOFTWARE OPERATION GLAS SWT, Feburary 20 -21, 2002 20
Remote SCF Status (cont. ) • Hardware Maintenance – Maintenance of the computers is carried through HP on a next day basis. We are keeping a spare root disk on hand at GSFC. Please contact us before calling HP directly, we may be able to save you a visit from the HP engineers. – Disk and tape storage libraries are through the respective vendors. The coverage on the tape library allows an “express” spare to be sent out by next day air. The disk warranty is similar, however, not next day. We have some spare hard drives which can be shipped out to the sites by the next day. GLAS SWT, Feburary 20 -21, 2002 21
