Scope of presentation • Presentation will cover: – ICAO Air Services Negotiations (ICAN) events – ICAO database of World Air Services Agreements (WASA) – ICAO Template Air Services Agreement (TASA) ØAll provide an excellent forum and practical tools for air services negotiators 09 November 2020 Page 2
Purposes of ICAN • Provide States with a central meeting place to conduct multiple bilateral (regional or plurilateral) air services negotiations or consultations – Improve efficiency of negotiation process by avoiding multiple, individual separate travel to conduct talks. Facilitate multilateral negotiations on a one-stop basis • Provide a forum for the participants to learn about current trends, discuss topical issues and exchange experiences, as well as excellent networking opportunities • Negotiations between States/regional groups stay private nature, not open to third parties 09 November 2020 Page 3 3
