Context § In the last two WGMs it became apparent that: - There were issues in categorizing realm-specifications and ballots materials versus International - There were some specifications characterized as International that were, in fact, realm specific § Ron Parker proposed a project, led by Ar. B, to create guidance on “Characteristics of Realm-Transferable Standards” - Realm-Transferable standards are actually International by definition ® Health Level Seven and HL 7 are registered trademarks of Health Level Seven International, registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. 3
Project Scope Statement § The Project Scope Statement proposes that IC be as both a natural and necessary co-sponsor § Project scope statement is here § TSC is expecting to approve the Ar. B Project Sunday May 05 th (today) § IC needs to pass a resolution to be co-sponsor ® Health Level Seven and HL 7 are registered trademarks of Health Level Seven International, registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. 4
Opportunity / need for IC contribution § Some International Affiliates have considerable experience in localizing HL 7 specifications. § The document cannot be considered authoritative without the perspective of the International HL 7 community. § The majority of current HL 7 contributors may not be mindful or appreciate the nuances of developing specs that are implementable internationally. ® Health Level Seven and HL 7 are registered trademarks of Health Level Seven International, registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. 5
Resolution by the IC to Co-sponsor Ar. B Project 1329 § Whereas there is a compelling and ongoing requirement to differentiate and effectively produce HL 7 standards that meet the implementation needs of the International Community; § Be it resolved that the HL 7 International Council will be a cosponsor of PSS 1329: “Characteristics of Realm Transferable Standards Specifications”. ® Health Level Seven and HL 7 are registered trademarks of Health Level Seven International, registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. 6
