WHAT IS IBERO AMERICAN ACTION LEAGUE? Ibero is a bilingual human services non profit organization that teaches the Hispanic community of Rochester to be self sufficient. It is the only dual language organization in Rochester for people who speak Spanish and English.
HOW DID IBERO BEGIN ? Ibero began in 1960 s doing work within the community , with support from the Catholic Diocese. In 1968 , Ibero became incorporated and targeted the development and growth the Hispanic community in Rochester. Today Ibero has a 220 dedicated employees to assist anyone within the community.

EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES The early childhood center located on 777 Clifford Ave, has an Early Headstart Program and Headstart Program. The Headstart program is used to give toddlers early exposure to the school setting and help prepare them for the kindergarten curriculum. Headstart also makes parents aware of preventative healthcare. Headstart exposes and works with families to ensure they have health insurance and provide services for children with disabilities. The program also helps children as young as 6 weeks develop motor skills.

YOUTH SERVICES Youth Services focuses on the communities youth. Within the division are: I. Poder/BRY Mentoring Program which mentors youth and tutors them so they succeed in school, II. Project Ayuda Outreach is a substance abuse and alcohol counseling intervention and case management for youth and their parents. III. PASEOS provides sex education to decrease teen pregnancy , HIV and STD awareness. IV. Summer Employment employs youth during the summer to give them job training. V. Latina Violence Program is an intervention and out reach for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking VI. Ibero/Hillside Partnership supports Hispanic students at Monroe High school who are enrolled in Hillside Work Scholarship program. VII. Expanded Learning Time is an enrichment program targeted to students at No. 9 and No. 17 elementary school
FAMILY SERVICES Family Services focuses on working with families and the challenges they face. Some challenges are child and elder abuse, health concerns for seniors, housing and employment. In 2014 Ibero served 4, 650 families, helping them in these areas along with becoming and staying self sufficient.
DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES DIVISION Individuals in DD Division are indivuals with developmental disabilities learning independent living skills in a group home setting. They have 24 hour care, on site nursing and staffing. They also have services that intergrade them into the society. Once they demonstrate independence the individual then transitions to supported living.
ENTREPRENEURIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM This program helps future business owners in the Buffalo and Elmira area that need guidance to develop business plans and how apply for business grants and loans. With this help, business owners are able to offer jobs within the community.
IBERO AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT CORP Ibero American Development Corp began in 1986 and is an affiliate of IAAL. It’s a real estate company that manages and develops Ibero’s properties. It focuses on affordable housing and rehabilitation programs. They work with the Greater Rochester Housing Partnership to increase home ownership in the community. IADC has a educational program that teaches new home owners how to maintain a home, manage finances and becoming a good neighbor. Some estates that are managed by IADC are El Camino Estates, an affordable housing unit consisting of 25 homes and Buena Vista Manor an affordable housing for low income seniors. Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School is managed as well by IADC.
HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND This scholarship is funded by the Rochester Area Community Foundation which provides financial support to Hispanic youth who are pursuing higher education. There is an application process for graduating seniors with high academic achievement and must be entering a college in the fall following their high school graduation.
