Regulatory Authority Establishment • The ANRA is a state authority responsible for regulation of nuclear and radiation safety in the Republic of Armenia. § ANRA was established under the Government Decree of RA in 1993 as a department under the Government of RA (RA Government decree № 573 as of 16 November 1993 on establishment of regulatory authority for nuclear and radiation safety - ANRA) § In 2002 it was merged with the Ministry of Nature Protection as a separate inspectorate (under Government Decree № 2183 -N as of 26 December 2002 and Government Decree as of 17 July 2008). § In 2008 under the RA President Ordinance ANRA was reorganized into a State Committee under the RA Government on Nuclear safety regulation § Chairman of ANRA is appointed by the Government of RA and 6 (Armenia) Reports directly to the Government. 2018 IAEA School for Drafting Regulations - Radiation Safety
