Background info. The September 11 attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda on the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. The americans were targeted. People aren't necessarily sure the causes of 9/11, but Osama Bin Laden says that it was just the al qaeda. Which can be seen as a problem derived from politics, religion, or just differences in society.

More Background Info There weren't many events leading up to the moment the first plane hit the World Trade Center. It's was just a normal day for everyone. It's was very out of the blue and abrupt. But as soon as the first plane hit, people were going crazy trying to figure out what had happened, and when the second plane hit, all of New York was chaos. Culture didn't play much of a role back then, al Qaeda was just apart of a different one. Now however, it plays a huge role. Americans everyday are called things like “Terrorists” and they are treated unfairly in society as if they actually are terrorists.

Reaction The nation mourned shortly after the planes crashed into the buildings. People flew the American flag from porches and car antenna. Some people wore it on shirts or other apparel. Some people wanted revenge on the terrorists that planned this attack. We would eventually hunt down Al Queda’s leader and kill him later on. Because of the planes being hijacked we had to step up airport security to makes sure this doesn't happen again.

Resolution There isn't really a resolution to 9/11. There is now a lot of discrimination towards Muslims and anyone of Middle Eastern descent. America is now at war with many middle eastern countries, and there have been major advancements in air travel security.

Connections to The Salem Witch Trials One way they are connected is by the hysteria of not knowing who you can trust, and where you will be safe. During 9/11 thousands of people were left with the questions “What's next? Where do we go? Is anywhere safe? ” And it was a very fearful time in America. Another way they are connected is how they were hunted down. People hunted witches, and after 9/11 they hunted down members of al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden.
