EXPLANATION OF A HYDRAULIC CLOSED LOOP CIRCUIT: • Basically hydraulic circuits are working on two principles. First is open circuit and second is closed circuit. • In open hydraulic circuit, after the actuation work is over return oil goes back to the tank directly via hydraulic cooler. • In the case of closed loop circuit, the return oil does not go back to the tank directly but it rotates within the circuit. • The typical example of a closed loop circuit is the work drive circuit of 09 -CSM. In the hydraulic circuit of work drive of 09 -CSM, there is a charge pump provided inside the axial piston pump and this charge pump is a gear
EXPLANATION OF A HYDRAULIC CLOSED LOOP CIRCUIT: • This charge pump sucks oil from the reservoir and gives a positive feed to the main pump (axial piston) capacity 90 cc. • The pressure setting of this charge pump is 30 bars. • As we know the axial piston is a variable type of pump where pump delivery is possible only with the change of swash plate angle. If swash plate angle is zero, than there will be no pump delivery
EXPLANATION OF A HYDRAULIC CLOSED LOOP CIRCUIT: • More the angle change more will be pump delivery. • For change of direction of pump flow, a proportional valve is provided. • When it is operated say RHS side, charge pump pressure acts over it and then transfers the pressure to control slide valve which in turn presses mechanical leverage and them there is swash angle displacement in RHS, the pump delivery takes place and the flow of hydraulic pump is converted into pressure energy with a relive valve i. e. at 210 bar.
EXPLANATION OF A HYDRAULIC CLOSED LOOP CIRCUIT: • This pressure of 210 bar is used for the movement of hydraulic motor, which is connected to axle. • Similarly when LHS side of proportional valve is activated then again control slide valve is activated and operated in reverse direction and the pump delivery takes place for another port. • The cross relief valve provided is set at 210 bar.
EXPLANATION OF A HYDRAULIC CLOSED LOOP CIRCUIT: • This pressure is utilized for the movement of hydraulic motor and power is transmitted. • In the circuit hydraulic pressure gauges have been provided which shows the pressures of axial piston pump and charge pump. • This should be ensured that no gauges should be defective. In case it is defective, it should be replaced immediately.
