Summary For our project we wanted to study major hurricanes (category 4 and 5) that have hit North America. But we wanted to single out one hurricane that was very costly and damaging, so we chose Hurricane Florence was from August 31, 2018 – September 19, 2018. We chose Hurricane Florence because it’s a fairly recent hurricane and it was very damaging economically and environmentally.

Statistics on Hurricane Florence caused a lot of damage in many areas. Some of those areas include houses, fields, farms and toxic animal waste containment sites which sent bacteria and hazardous chemicals into the water. Some stats from Hurricane Florence are. - The storm killed at least 5, 500 pigs and 3. 4 million chickens At least 51 people have died in the Carolinas from Hurricane Florence caused $24 billion in damages. 2 coal ash plants were affected during the hurricane. There were many more things affected from the storm these are just some of the more costly and dangerous facts.
