A Prayer concerning COVID-19…

O blessed Lord, We pray to you for your people suffering from the COVID-19 virus,

for people who have died, and for all who mourn.

We pray for all who are experiencing fear, abuse, food insecurity, loss of income.

We ask you to bless all the doctors, nurses, caregivers, and all who are working to provide the essentials of food, education, and support services that we need.

We ask you to bless our leaders with wisdom to discern the next steps as we begin to recover from the depths of this pandemic.

We thank you and praise you for the gift of life. In your Name, we pray. Amen.

A Prayer concerning Substance Misuse…

O blessed Lord, Give your calm presence to people who are vulnerable to substance misuse during this trying time.

Look with compassion upon your people who through substance misuse have lost their health and freedom.

Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy. Remove from the fears that beset them.

Strengthen them in the work of their recovery. Give patience, understanding, and persevering love to the people who care for them.

Guide us and all who work to prevent substance misuse, with compassion and wisdom.
