In the night from September 18 th to September 19 th 2002, a missed coup transformed it self rapidly in a armed rebellion occupying the north of the country with Bouaké as its capital city.

The war always affects the weakest

Human Rights. . . have been violated throughout the country since the civil war began. Examples of these gross violations are mass killings, violence against children, and the unspeakable practice of forced paternal rape.

People under the rebel area had to leave their houses

Among these displaced people we have a great number of medical students from Bouaké.

They suffered from physical damages during which many them died. Others run into some nearby forest and only God knows up to now where they are.

Those students lost many of their working materials: clothing, radio, medical instruments; white coats, stethoscopes, thermometers computers…One of the most important things lost is the report of their researches for students preparing a thesis….

By extension this will have a great impact on the public health system of the country.

A great operation to gather shoes and clothing was undertaken by the SYNESS Most of them are badly accommodated. They were received by other medical students(SYNESS=IFMSA)who are lodged residences. You can find 4 or 6 students in a space provided previously for 1 or 2

- Their expressed needs Medical instruments School furnitures Computers If possible, money Drugs. .

Unfortunately Ivory Coast is not the only case. We have a lot of collegues To help around the world. Lets start, lets make a real difference.
