Federal Agencies The United States Government offers help to citizens with many delivery systems. The US Department of Health and Human Services for one includes the following agencies: Ø Ø Ø Administration for Children and Families Center for Disease Control Centers for Medicaid and Medical Services Food and Drug Administration Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration

Federal US Dept. of Health and Human Services- A family of agencies dedicated to helping citizens, especially lower income and at risk populations with services to better their health. Ø Administration For Children and Families- These programs include assistance with welfare, child support enforcement, adoption assistance, foster care, child care, and child abuse. Ø Center for Disease Control-(CDC) It especially focuses its attention on infectious disease, environmental health, occupational safety and health, health promotion, injury prevention and educational activities to improve health. In addition, the CDC researches and provides information on non-infectious diseases such as obesity and diabetes.
