During WWII the Pro - U. S. government in China managed to survive the Japanese invasion thanks to the help from the Americans and the British. Because of this help, China remained loyal to the U. S. and anti Communist. Chiang Kai-shek

!!!BUT THEN!!! Before WWII, the Chinese were in a Civil War, and one group wanted to spread Communism. However, during WWII they stopped fighting and rebuilt themselves, with a lot of Soviet aid, and waited for the right time. Though the Pro – U. S. government had won the war, they were weakened by it, a perfect time for the strong Communist forces to attack! Mao Zedong

Through a bloody Civil War, with little aid from the Americans, the Pro – U. S. government fled to Taiwan. On October 1, 1949, China became the Peoples Republic of China, another country had fallen to Communism. Under Communism, millions of Chinese have been killed, either you join or die.
