How to help your child become more independent at Nursery. ● Please do not carry your child to the classroom, please encourage your child to walk independently. ● Please continue to encourage your child to use the toilet and wash their hands independently. Children are not allowed to wear diapers or training pants in school. ● Please encourage your children to use their spoon and fork and to feed themselves. Please do not spoon feed your children outside of school as this will delay their progress. ● Children will be required to brush their own teeth after lunch in school. ● Continue to allow your children to put their shoes on independently. Velcro shoes are appropriate rather than lace up shoes as the children will need to do this by themselves. ● Please don’t stand overlooking the playground. This upsets the children a lot.

Milk for Afternoon Snack should be sent in the schoolbag each day. Children who are allergic to cow’s milk may send in their own milk for the morning snack also. 5. Children are not permitted to bring in their own snacks as these are already provided by school, including children for with allergies. They must not give other children food / snacks as they might be allergic to them. 6. Water bottles should be left on the tables outside the classroom each morning. 7. Parents should please form a line outside the classroom (away from the door, to the right of the door). Please be patient as the children are dismissed one at a time in the order of the queue. Please be considerate of other parents who are also waiting. 8. All children should have a spare change of clothes and a couple of spare pairs of underwear in their bag.
