Summary over bill H. R. 3490 is the resolution that I have selected to do my project over. The bill was introduced by our US House of Representative member Sam Graves, after the introduction of the resolution it was sent to the House Ways and Means Committee. H. R. 3490 is to continue the teacher tax deduction. The goal for Rep. Graves is to extend the tax deduction for teachers, counselors and principals until 2020 but also raise the amount to $500. 00 instead of the $250. 00 it was currently at. I believe this resolution will pass. Most representatives and senators want to keep teachers on their side and by not voting to give teacher a little tax break will hurt their chances of reelection. The tax break is already in the tax code but it ends at the end of the 2014 tax season. If this bill is not passed then teachers will lose that tax break. For a politician I believe this would be death for their political career. Teachers make up a huge part of the work force and their lobbies and unions can make huge waves in a political career. H. R. 3490 is a good resolution and it will help educator to continue spending their own personal money to make the classroom better for their Return to table of contents students.
