1 2 PE 4 GENERAL-He is active and alert and quite hungry, he keeps rooting on his mother's chest during the visit. He has regained ½ of the weight he lost from birth to discharge. What is Most Likely 1 2 Back to main Benign Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia • More common in breast fed babies. Sometimes will require bili-light Peak TB in Caucasian and AA babies is 48 -96 hours and usually is 7 -9. • East Asian infants peak is between 72 -120 hours and usually is 10 to 14. 3 DX Jaundice will typically resolve in three weeks and goes from the face down… you can tell jaundice by blanching the skin. • Breast fed babies may not be getting enough nutrition so be sure and watch the weight. UP TO date is a great resource.
