LDSU Technical Overview LDSU runs on 1 central box in your network • A synch solution = a series of LDSU “Instances” • Each LDSU Instance either: • Imports Data from a text file into an LDAP directory – Exports Data from an LDAP directory into a text file – A bi-directional synch of 2 LDAP directories consists of 4 instances (2 Exports, 2 Imports) • Non LDAP Data Sources supply/accept a text file • 11/22/2020 HP LDSU 7
LDSU Instance Components • Configuration File (e. g. ldsu_config. dat) – • Layout File (e. g. ldsu_layout. dat) – • Defines directory attributes (shadow schema) Record Definition File (RDF) (e. g. export. rdf) – • Defines Mode, Directory, Files, Options Defines fields to text file format mapping Text File (e. g. export. txt) – 11/22/2020 Flat file (input for Import, output for Export) HP LDSU 8
LDSU Modes Import – replicate full copy of entries into directory • Transaction – add, modify, and/or delete entries from add, modify, delete input files. • Export – export all entries, or subset of entries • Changes – export changed entries into add, modify, delete output files • • Update – modify directory entries based on existing directory data • Reformat – convert text files 11/22/2020 HP LDSU 9
