Solutions Resident and Fellow Assistance Program (RFAP) Physicians Assistance Program (PAP) www. lifesolutionsforyou. com ü Free, 24/7, confidential support for UPMC residents, fellows, attendings (and household members) ü Counseling in person or by phone (6 sessions per issue) ü Psychiatric consultation and prescribing ü Support for stress, depression, anxiety, substance misuse, relationship concerns, domestic violence, etc. ü Personalized resources (e. g. child- or eldercare, housing, legal, finance, test-taking, career development, etc. ) ü Brain Manager is a free app with evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness

Cu. RBside Confidential Referrals for Behavioral health Cu. RBside 1 -833 -231 -1575 ü Free, personalized mental health referral service for UPMC physicians, physician trainees, and their families. ü Use of this service is confidential and use of it will not be shared with UPMC supervisors, managers, human resources, Benefits Department, or UPMC Health Plan.

Cu. RBside – Making the call Any UPMC resident, fellow or attending can call Cu. RBside at 1 -833 -231 -1575 (M-F, 8 AM-5 PM EST) Every call begins with the following greeting: “Thank you for calling the Cu. RBside Physician Referral Line. Your protected health information is treated and kept in accordance with all privacy laws. This call may be monitored for quality and training purposes. ” 10
Cu. RBside – The opening If after hours a recording says, “Thank you for calling Cu. RBside… If this is an emergency, please dial 911. If this is not an emergency, please call back during business hours, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. ” If during business hours, a Cu. RBside care manager will then answer “Hello, this is ____. ” 11
Cu. RBside – The call Care manager collects relevant information (i. e. primary concern(s), insurance or self-pay, provider gender, days/hours available, area with radius, etc. ) Care manager inquires about preferred communication style (email or phone) and lets the physician know that they will receive 1 -2 referrals within 5 business days* *If emergent, referral to re: solve or local crisis center if outside Allegheny County. 12
Cu. RBside – The referral A Cu. RBside representative reaches out to local mental health providers to assure that they are currently taking new referrals to facilitate a warm transfer The Cu. RBside representative then contacts the physician via preferred communication in order to provide details on up to 3 referral options The physician then contacts the mental health provider of their choice to schedule the first session and establish care 13
Cu. RBside – Follow-up Within two weeks, a Cu. RBside representative will reach out to the physician again to assure that contact was established (or if additional assistance would be helpful) Within 60 days, an email will be sent with an anonymous satisfaction survey 14
