How to write an introduction Paragraph

Introduction Part 2: After the hook comes the background sentences You might want to include the definition of a key term • “Global warming is an increase in the earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect” (Dictionary. com). * You need a citation for a definition- included in your works cited list at the end of your paper.

Another bit of background information should be added: Why is this topic so important today? • Global warming is a serious issue which affects our farms, the weather, and the future of our planet. *Again, common facts don’t need a citation .

Part 3 of your introduction paragraph: thesis statement Start with: • In this essay, I will discuss… List the main ideas from each of your body paragraphs: • In this essay, I will discuss the data about childhood obesity, the causes, the health effects, and offer some solutions. What are the main ideas for each body paragraph for this essay?
