The question is open to research • This means you should be able to use research to answer the question • The scope of the course has to be realized (don’t pick a science related question because we can’t answer that with prose and poetry • Eg. What is the best way to lead a group of people?
The question may have many possible answers • Cannot be answered with “yes” or “no” • “Why” , “What”, “How” all work to start but be sure that the answer is…. . • Open-ended (no right or wrong answer) • Eg. How can we improve the lives of people less fortunate in developing countries?
It has to have a clear focus BUT be vague enough to encourage many answers • Direct and specific questions • What effect does fear have on our actions? • Why do people hurt others? •
