Structure • Introduction - answer the prompt and get to the analysis! - Use the language of the prompt but move beyond it and get specific - Specify the purpose and the choices you will analyze • Body - follow the TEA organization pattern and recycle it as necessary - Organize your body paragraphs by subject/topic – but also in chronological order as uch as possible - Remember to fully explore and explain how a speaker’s choices support his purpose - What does the choice accomplish? How does that accomplishment convey the purpose? Does it appeal to logic, emotion, or credibility? • Conclusion - Do not stress about a huge conclusion – the analysis is most important - This is your final remark in 1 -2 sentences. Try to link it to something previously said, but don’t just regurgitate your thesis.
