Therefore, this could be really important! q. Must be an Oklahoma resident q. Must be in the 8 th, 9 th, or 10 th grade. q. The Parents’ federal adjusted gross income must not exceed $55 K per year.

If maybe this year it is going to drop & be below maybe wait until the FY 20 tax time & then apply. Get it if you can!!!

Step 6. 4 Scholarships • Scholarships can be for a wide range of amounts, $50 to tens of thousands of dollars. • They can require a specific: gender, sexual orientation, race, geographic location, major, college, religion, GPA, class rank, athletic ability, disability, economics, etc. & etc. • You might say what, that doesn’t sound right &/or fair? However, if you stop & think about it. People can give their money to whom ever they choose & for what ever reason they choose. They are not “required” to be “fair” about it…

There are hundreds of thousands of scholarships & grants out there! • Note: it takes time to apply for an particular scholarship. Minutes to hours each, but that can really add up to a lot of time. • The more you apply for the greater the chance of receiving one &/or hopefully several! • You want to be finding scholarships that you qualify for ahead of time. • Start getting apps ready long before applying!

Step 7. 4 School Loans I would recommend you avoid using if at all possible. Can be a very important tool for some, & can become a real problem for many other people. So, do your research, & try to get: q. Get as many Grants as possible! q. Win as many Scholarships as possible! q. Career Tech(CT) courses, many of these also offer college credits. Certain colleges &/or degree programs will give college credit for CT programs. (Example: Francis Tuttle offers free tuition to any Putnam City School student &/or Putnam City Schools graduate. )

Consider choosing Schools with lower costs: a) In State Schools vs. Out of State (Usually 3 X costs!) b) Community Colleges? at least for the basics, & then maybe transfer hours to 4 yr college. q. Pay as much as you can afford as you go. q. Then, make school loans your last option! You may need to take some loans out, but try & limit them. Remember you will have to pay them back!!!
