HOW TO SAVE OUR FAMILIES Getting Off Course Is Never As Bad As STAYING Off Course
THE WORLD WILL NOT HELP • The world is on course for eternal disaster – Eph. 2: 1 -3; 4: 17 -20; 5: 8 -11 • How could they possibly be a friend to our children’s souls? – 1 Cor. 15: 33 • How can we make sure we give our families the tools for eternal success?
THREE ESSENTIAL THINGS • Affirm a common mission together • Mission: “Help each other to heaven” • Affirm constantly that a family plan is far better than no plan at all • Be Ready Always to Make Adjustments
THE MISSION OF THIS FAMILY • “We will serve the Lord “ – Joshua 24: 15 ff • Saving of this house – Heb. 11: 7 • To listen to all that God commands – Acts 10: 33 • Every member takes away from or gives toward the mission of this unit • Regular assessments to keep the team in focus
A PLAN IS BETTER THAN NO PLAN • Even if we do not stay consistently on course • No plan = certain tragedy • A plan = constant navigational corrections • A plan = constant checking and evaluating
BE READY TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS • Keep referring back to your chart – your family mission statement • Keep bringing things back into focus: • Have a clear vision of your desired destination • Be willing to confess errors in judgment • Adjust Your Course with Diligence and Urgency • Only those pilots who keep adjusting will make their planned destination
