Farm to Fork - Game Goal • The player needs to raise Potato Town’s nutrition level by sustainably producing potatoes, managing waste and promoting and selling healthy products before the time runs out. • To win players must successfully sell 20 Salads and 30 bags of potatoes, which improves the health of people in Potato Town.

Farm to Fork - Game Levels Use the Main Map to navigate through the game levels • The player will need to initially play each level of the game individually Ø Ø farm production plant waste disposal market • Unlocking each level as they complete the To Do List. • Once all levels are unlocked the Main Map will then allow the player to freely navigate through all levels and work through each aspect of the food supply chain.

Farm to Fork - To Do List Open the To Do List here • As part of playing the game, there a set of achievements to unlock • Each achievement completed rewards the player with stars • Completing all achievements per level awards the player with money

Farm to Fork Stars awarded for achievements • As the player completes the To Do List in each level, they will be awarded stars • Completing the To Do List for one level unlocks the next level Confirmation next level unlocked

Farm to Fork - Quiz Questions Open the Quiz here. • Each level has three quiz questions that can be answered for extra money and stars • This allows the player to unlock the next level and achieve reward stars and cash to help plant more crops • The information to help the player answer the questions is found contained in the levels

Farm to Fork - Indicator Bars Money is used to plant seed potatoes and to purchase locked items The nutrition bar tracks the towns health, achieving 100% wins the game Product stock levels in the market place that are available to sell When the timer hits 0, the game ends The waste bar tracks the current waste in the plant. If this waste overflows before the player sorts it, the player is fined. Stars are awarded for good game play and 30 blue stars unlocks a trophy Available stock in the associated area

Farm to Fork - Farm Level Seed Tool Shovel tool • The player plants potato seed using the seed tool • When the plots have been sown, the growing cycle starts • When the crops are ready, the player must harvest them with the shovel tool • Plots that are not improved, watered or left too long can go rotten and create waste • Spoilt plots must be dug out and the waste is sent to the plant

Farm to Fork - Farm Level Press the seed tool to plant potatoes Use the speed up button to speed up the growing time of the crop • The player must continue to plant seed potatoes and harvest the crop to maintain stock levels for processing and sale. • With money made in the market the player can come back and unlock soil improver and water drops for future crops. • If crops are not watered and the soil is not improved, there is a 50% chance the crop will fail and produce waste.

Farm to Fork - Production Plant Level Helper • In the production plant the player must Ø wash the dirty stock harvested at the farm Ø then place the cleaned potatoes into the processing machines to produce stock to be sold in the market • Making fries and crisps creates waste that must be sent to the waste plant • A helper can be unlocked to collect and sort the waste

Farm to Fork – Waste Disposal • Waste can be sorted for use as animal feed or bio -fuel • The waste must be sorted before the plant overflows • If an overflow occurs, all the waste is dumped in landfill and the player is fined • If the waste is sorted incorrectly, the player is also fined

Farm to Fork – The Market Stock Advertising Here the player can • sell the stock they have produced to customers • display advertising posters to promote healthy food purchases that also create less waste

Farm to Fork - Sales Requested stock • The player opens the market and sells the requested stock to the customers • If the customers receive incorrect stock, the player does not receive money and the customers will dump their food creating waste

Farm to Fork – Market Demand Check Market Demand here. • The initial market demand heavily favours fries and crisps • Selling fries and crisps lowers the towns nutritional level • Selling salads and whole potatoes raises the towns nutritional level • The player must raise the towns nutritional level to 100% before the time runs out to win

Farm to Fork – Advertising Campaigns • A series of advertising campaign posters can be activated with money • Correct completion of these campaign posters change the market demand in the town • The more campaigns completed, the more the residents are likely to buy the healthier food options

Farm to Fork – Effects of Advertising • As the campaigns alter the market demand in the town, more healthy items are bought • This in turn increases the town’s nutrition level and less unhealthy and wasteful products need to be produced

Farm to Fork – Advertising messages • There are 4 advertising campaigns for the player to complete - Value buying seasonal local food Healthy school canteen menu Healthy cooking at home Healthy fast food eating out

Farm to Fork – Campaign Feedback • Successful completion of an advertising campaign is reflected in the town’s newspaper • If the player was unsuccessful with a campaign, they will be shown a paper informing them nothing has changed so they need to try again

Farm to Fork –Effects on Nutrition and Waste • Completing all four advertisement campaigns drastically changes the towns eating patterns • With a high demand for whole potatoes and salads, less waste is produced and the towns nutritional level increases quickly

Farm to Fork – Working the whole supply chain • When the To Do lists for each level are completed, the main map is completely unlocked and the player can work back and forth through the whole food supply chain • The player will need to harvest more crops, produce food products, manage the town waste and continue to sell the products in the marketplace

Farm to Fork • If the player is able to raise the towns nutrition level to 100% before the time runs out, they will win the game

Farm to Fork • If the timer runs out or the player wins, they will be presented with a rating that tracks their progress • The town rating is based on the ratio of healthy vs unhealthy products sold and total waste created • The amount of waste they produce is also presented • The player can also unlock various trophies to encourage replaying the game
