Basketball court Side lines = These are the two boundaries, the basketball and players can not go over this line. Centre circle = This circle is where the game starts. Lane line = Boundaries running off the free throw line. These lines separetes the non shooters. Endline =These lines are behind the backbourd. The basketball can not go over this line because the ball will be out if play. Mid court line = This line divides the court in half. Once the ball passes this line it reduces the offence players. Free throw circle = On a free throw the player must stay in the circle when they shoot thry can nit move untill the ball hits the rim. Three point line = You recieve 3 points if you get a goal on this line.
Rules • • • Two teams with 5 players in each. Players can move down the court by passing, tapping, throwing, rolling or dribbling. The team who scores the most points wins the game overall. The game consists of four quarters of 10 minutes each with a 15 minute break at half time. If the game is tied after the forth period the game contines with an extra 5 minute period. There is one referee and one umpire. Each game starts with a jump ball. Points are scired by shooting the ball through the hoop. Two points for a goal inside three point line and three points for outside. Free throws are rewarded after a foul and players are given one point for getting the ball through the hoop.

Violations • Walking/Travel = Once you stop dribbling and then you start dibbling again. • Carrying = When the basketball is held in the air for too long. • Double dribble = When players dribble with both hands or stopping the ball and dribbling again. • Held ball = When two or more players get possession of thr ball at the same time. • Goaltending = When a player interfears with the ball whilst being shot. • Time restrictions = The ball must be passed within 5 seconds. • Backcourt violation = Once offence has crossed the mid point line they can not travel back across the line. Positions • Centre offensive = To get open for a pass and then to shoot. Then also block defenders. • Centre defensive = Keep opponents from shooting and try to get rebounds. • Forward offensive = Get free for a pass, take outside shoots, drive for goals and get rebounds. • Forward defensive = Prevent drives to the goal and get rebounds. • Gaurd offensive = Dribbling, passing and setting up the shoots for the offensive players. • Gaurd defensive =Stealing passes, contesting shoots and proventing drives to the hoop.
Scoring • Free throw = This shot will be given by the referee from a foul. A successful free throw is rewared one point. • 2 points = Any shot taken within the area between the end line and the three point circle is worth two points if successful. • 3 points = Any shoot taken behind the three point line is worth three points if the shoot is successful. Goalball court Team areas = Each team has a side if the court, they must have a body part in their area when throwing the goalball. Throw line = players can not pass this line when they throw the ball. Center line = this is where the game starts This is where the players line up.
Rules • The game last 20 minutes with 10 minutes on each side of half time, with a 3 minute half time for the players to switch ends. • Each team is allowed three 45 second time outs throughtout the game. • All players must wear eyeshades throughout the whole game. The only time the players can touch them is to adjust them by putting thier hand in the air or saying “eyeshades”. • Once in comtact with the ball players only have 10 seconds to pass the ball to opposing team. • The ball must be rolled along the floor when passing. • Players must stay in the team area when defending. • Each team has 6 players but only 3 players on the court at one time. • There is a bell insude the ball so players know where the ball is on the court.
Penalties Olympic men and women • Ten second penalty = A team takes more than 10 seconds to pass the ball over the Centre line. • Illegal defence = When a team player makes contact with the ball without a part of their body touching their team area. • Short ball = The ball fails to reach the opponents area when thrown. • High ball = The ball doesnt touch the landing line when thrown. • Long ball = The ball doesnt reach the neutral zone when thrown. • Touching eyeshades = Touching eyeshades wirhout permission. • Unsportsmanlike conduct = Arguing with the refree. • Exessive noise = When the offending team make noise that destracts the opposing players. • Ashlie Marie Andrews = Canada • Amanda Dennis = USA • Jennifer Blow = Australia • Christian Friebel = Germany • Erkki Niinala = Finland • Leomon Moreno = Brazil
