How to join Pinterest & like us… To help you with this project, you will need to join the Pinterest website. Simply click on the red ‘P’ logo in the right-hand corner of this slide to be redirected to their website. It’s free to join but you do need an email account address to register. Once registered search for the ‘Art @ Waseley Hills’ page and us to become a follower! Our area is divided up into lots of different art and graphic design boards which are full of ideas to help you. You will find the ‘Alessi board’ which links to this project towards the top of our page. See our screen shots below…

Task 1 a Design an Alessi themed title page. Fill this slide with images connected to Alessi’ s products. Finally, complete the title rectangle at the bottom of this page with your personal details, you may customise this in any way that suits you. Remember that all Alessi images should go behind this title rectangle! Delete these instructions once you have completed the task and move onto task 1 b on the next slide… Type your name here Type your Tutor Group here Year 9 Graphic Communication ‘Alessi Project’

Task 1 b Design a border around the outside of this slide for your new project. This should be contained in-between the two dotted lines. You may include small items of clip art, but the images must be related to Alessi. Remember to keep the white space in the middle empty. The next slide shows you an example of this. Remember to include your name, your tutor group and the title ‘Alessi project’ somewhere within your border. Task 2 a) Copy and paste your border design from task 1 onto the outside edge of this page. Place the title ‘Alessi Research’ within your border then please delete the dotted line. b) Research the Alessi company. Find 10 key facts about the company. You must include where and when it was founded and who by and what they are known for. Also include 8 other facts. Present this information in the style of a fact sheet onto the middle area of this slide. You may use more than one slide but remember to include your border design onto every slide that you use! Task 3 a) Copy and paste your border design from task 1 onto the outside edge of this page. Place the title ‘Product Analysis’ within your border then please delete the dotted line. b) Please analyse and evaluate your chosen Alessi product, you will need to answer the following questions: • Describe your Alessi product i. e. colour / design. • Do you like the colours? • Is it safe to use? • Where would you use the product? • Is it well made? • What do you think of the design of the product? • Would you buy it? Why is this? • Do you think its good value for money? • How do you think the product could be improved? Present this information in the middle area of this slide. You may use more than one slide but remember to include your border design onto every slide that you use!

Task 4 a) Copy and paste your border design from task 1 onto the outside edge of this page. Place the title ‘Comparison Task’ within your border then please delete the dotted line. b) Compare your Alessi product with an equivalent item e. g. Bunny and Carrot kitchen roll holder with the ‘Linea’ ‘House of Fraser’ kitchen roll holder. Write about: • The positive and negative points for each of the two products which you are comparing. • How do the pieces differ? • How do the materials differ between the two objects? • How does the cost differ? • Which one do you believe is better value – state why this is. (Include a picture of the equivalent item) Present this information in the style of a fact sheet onto the middle area of this slide. You may use more than one slide but remember to include your border design onto every slide that you use!

Task 5 a) Copy and paste your border design from task 1 onto the outside edge of this page. Place the title ‘Evaluation’ within your border then please delete the dotted line. b) Write about the following points: • What do you think of your finished P. O. P. stand? • What didn’t go so well? • What do you think you could have improved on? • Find an equivalent P. O. P stand from the internet. Include this picture in the slide. How do you think this new P. O. P. compares to your stand? Present your work in the middle area of this slide. You may use more than one slide but remember to include your border design onto every slide that you use! Delete these instructions once you have completed the task!

Task 6 a) Copy and paste your border design from task 1 onto the outside edge of this page. Place the title ‘Computer Drawing’ within your border then please delete the dotted line. b) Design a brand new Alessi product for the home. Your design should be for either the kitchen, bathroom or garden. Present your work in the middle area of this slide. You may use more than one slide but remember to include your border design onto every slide that you use! Delete these instructions once you have completed the task!

Task 7 a) Copy and paste your border design from task 1 onto the outside edge of this page. Place the title ‘Finial Piece’ within your border then please delete the dotted line. b) Paste your photograph of your stand which you took during your lesson into a slide. c) Copy and paste your border design from task 1 onto a new slide. Place the title ‘Design Brief’ within your border then please delete the dotted line. Re-write the original P. O. P design brief in your own words relating it to your own P. O. P. stand theme. Delete these instructions once you have completed the task!

Task 8 a) Copy and paste your border design from task 1 onto a new slide. Place the title ‘Peer Review’ within your border then please delete the dotted line. Write up your notes from class of the reviewing of a year 11 GCSE Graphics project into the centre of this slide. SEE Slide 13 for the GCSE Graphic work example images which you have looked at in school, these have been included in this Power. Point to help you to remember what we have coved in lesson!
