How to Defend Your Base and Yourself By
How to Defend Your Base and Yourself By Hudson Sokolowski In case of an apocalyptic event your home must be secured and defended. The best way to do this is to create a buffer between your base and the enemy. You want to turn your home into a defensible structure and you want to be able to defend yourself. Ideally, you would have a tall fence, a guard tower, barriers, and some sort of weapon’s array to reach beyond your fence. This will require a lot of improvisation.
Securing Your Perimeter Keeping intruders out is your number one objective. Fencing: Building a fence that allows you to see any incoming threats and doesn’t give your enemy any space to hide is Advantageous. Choosing a fence that is hard to climb with sharp contours can be an extra deterrent Which ever fence you pick, or if its an existing fence, make sure it is sturdy so it can withstand your enemies attack.
Barriers Erect barriers around your fence that will force the enemy to approach from only one direction preferably, so they will be easier to control. Create barriers that can cause physical harm when attempted to be breached. The more Intimidating or scary your structure looks the more of a deterrent your structure will be. Using barb wire or razor wire is a good idea because it is a difficult element to maneuver through. Keep in mind to erect your barrier in a way that it can not be easily climbed over or dug under. Use sturdy materials you have at hand to erect barriers that will withstand even vehicular attacks and slow down the enemy
Gating and Guarding Your perimeter will need to be accessible to you, and needs to be observed twenty four hours a day. An early warning system is Beneficial. The number of gates should be limited to what's absolutely necessary. It should be able to accommodate pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Building a guard tower or observation deck with guards on rotating shifts will be necessary to identify all approaching threats. Attaching objects that create noise when disturbed to your fence, gate, or barriers, can make for a very effective early warning system when the enemy tries to breach your perimeter.
Defending Yourself If an attack is imminent you will require tools to protect yourself. In case you don’t have access to fire arms you will need to fashion your own weapon with any materials you have available. Be creative and try to build weapons that will be effective for your purpose. Building devices such as catapults to be placed throughout your perimeter will help you foil the enemies attack before he can reach your perimeter.
Remember First and foremost you must keep in mind that defending your perimeter is essential to keeping your home safe. You will need to remain vigilant and keep your guard up quite literally. Don’t let the fight reach your home! Keep your advantage by securing your base. Your home should be a safe haven and a fortress!
