How does a plant grow? Stage 1 n A seed is planted in the soil. Stage 2 n The seed germinates. Roots start growing down into the soil. Stage 3 n The roots grow longer and a stem pushes up out of the ground.

Stage 4 n The plant grows leaves and starts to make its own food. Stage 5 n Full-grown plant Leaves, stems, flowers and roots n Now it can reproduce and make new seeds n

How does a plant make seeds? A flower has 2 parts that help it make seeds, a male and female part. The male part makes pollen. The female part makes tiny eggs. When the two parts come together, a seed can form.
