What does Hierarchy mean The wolf Hierarchy is the other wolves in a pack that are a lower rank than the alpha wolf.

How might the wolf hierarchy change? The wolf hierarchy could change when the Alpha wolf dies. Then a wolf from the hierarchy could advance and become the Alpha wolf. Or the wolf from the hierarchy gets older and start his or her own pack. Another way the wolf hierarchy could change is when a new wolf joins the pack.

How might this compare to people? When a child grows up he or she starts a family of his or her own. This is similar to what a wolf will do when it grows up. If you are younger than the adults it’s like a hierarchy. Then you later become an adult.

How might this compare to people? In kindergarten you are the youngest and then you get older and become a fifth grader. This makes you the older student in the school. So it’s like moving up from the hierarchy.

How might this compare to people? When you are working there is a boss. Consider him or her the Alpha. And you are part of the hierarchy. You could get promotions and be in a higher rank. Then maybe you might become the boss when he or she stops working or retires.

How might this compare to people? It is very similar to what will happen to people. This shows how wolves are like people.
