We can work out the average temperature for the day by adding these 2 readings and dividing by two. i. e. Average Daily temperature = Maximum Temperature + Minimum Temperature divided by 2 To work out the average monthly temperature, add up the average temperature for each day in the month and divide by the number of days in the month. 3 Dry bulb thermometer - this measures air temperature. 4 Wet bulb thermometer - this shows us the amount of water vapour in the atmosphere.
