How could I use VROMA in my teaching?
Some Potential Uses of VROMA • Visits to the ancient city in class for tours, role-playing, or re-enactment of historical events • Collaboration between students on texts and commentaries for various levels • On-line collaborative courses drawing together students and faculty from different institutions
How can I join the VROMA Community?
Guest • If you wish to visit the VROMA MOO as a guest, go to the VROMA Home Page, then click on Web Gateway. • At the Gateway, enter in the following information – Your character name: guest – Your password: (leave blank) • Click the appropriate interface button, and you’re in!
Character • If you wish to become a permanent user of VROMA, then you need to apply for a character name and a password. • You should contact the Director of the VROMA Project, Suzanne Bonefas, at: – bonefas@hippokrene. colleges. org • Or follow the link off the VROMA home page.
Builder/Programmer • If you wish to build in VROMA or to become a programmer, you will also need to contact Prof. Bonefas to obtain permission for these higher level activities • There is considerable need for scholars who are interested in helping with the construction of the historical Rome section of the VROMA project. • You can also apply for space for yourself or your students to build in the non-historical section of VROMA.
