The Weather Station Network • Currently there are 68 stations in NZ to chose • • from and 450 in Australia The stations cover all the major horticultural areas. The NZ stations are owned by Hort. Plus, Plant and Food Research, NIWA and private growers The Australian stations are operated by the Bureau of Meteorology Most are called every hour

Weather forecasts • Done in conjunction with the Met. Service • 35 forecasts are generated 7 times per day • Forecast are done for every hour for 2 ½ days • They include temperature, rainfall, humidity, • wind speed and wind direction The forecast are compared each day with actual weather conditions to improve accuracy
