Hormone Balancing Program Hormone Balancing-Weight Loss Program
Hormone Test is Included in the Patient Symptom Assessment at www. Club. Reduce. com It’s the 4 th section in the Symptom Assessment. You’ll notice the test has different questions for men and for women.
You Must Determine If Candida is Present. If it is, You Combine the Hormone Balancing Products with the Candida Eating Program • You will be able to determine that by having the patients complete the Symptom Survey at www. Club. Reduce. com • Many of the symptoms for hormone imbalance are the same symptoms as Candida
Importance of Hormones & Hormone Producing Glands • Chemicals are secreted by glands in the body • Hormones instruct target cells and/or glands to produce a particular substance • Hormones stimulate or inhibit the actions of cells everywhere, depending on the needs of the body • Hormones are dependent upon each other to produce a balanced chemical Kidneys environment in the body The Adrenal Glands
One of the Many Reason A Patient Can’t Lose Weight…. • Is because their hormones aren’t balanced!
Overweight, Underweight and Normal Weight Patients Can Suffer from Hormonal Imbalances • The longer you practice this way, the more referrals you’ll get of people who just need to get healthy • They may not need to lose weight, but often have hormonal imbalances
You Will Treat These Patients The Same Way… • You simply restrict the calories of those who need to lose weight and increase calories for those who need to gain weight. • Typically women are 1000 calories per day for weight loss • Men are 1200 calories per day for weight loss • Best to measure on Tanita and have them eat 400 calories less than they burn. (Not less than 1000 for women and 1200 for men. )
• As the body goes through the progression of disease, the immune system breaks down and hormonal imbalance almost always comes into play • Symptoms are always a late manifestation of a breakdown in the body. • The breakdown generally occurs long before the symptoms surface.
• 95% of all degenerative disease begins with a toxic body. • Thus, it makes sense that to achieve hormone balance, you must first target the source of the problem by detoxifying the body. • For maximum benefit, the Hormone Balancing Program should be followed for 60 to 90 days. • The Hormone Balancing diet is similar to the 12 -Week Weight Loss Program, or the Candida 12 -Week Weight Loss Program but with additional supplements
Creating and Maintaining Hormone Balance Requires… • Detoxifying the Body • Reducing caffeine and alcohol intake • Practicing stress management techniques • Taking supplementation to rebuild the immune system • Eating a natural precursor diet • Using natural hormone enhancing precursor supplements
What About…. Traditional Hormone Replacement Therapy?
• Millions of women who were taking estrogen and progestin in 2002 were thrown for a loop when results from the first large clinical study of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) were released…
• Findings from the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study showed that long-term use of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) not only didn’t reduce the risk of heart disease, as previously thought, but actually increased a woman’s risk of developing cardiovascular problems and breast cancer!
• The Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study followed some 16, 000 women aged 50 to 79 who took either a combination of estrogen and progestin or a placebo pill. • Although the eight-year study was supposed to last until 2005, it was stopped when researchers determined that the risk of taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) outweighed the benefits.
• In fact, it was found that women taking HRT were more likely to develop invasive breast cancer or suffer a stroke, heart attack or blood clot than women not taking the hormones. • The increased risk of breast cancer became evident after about four years of HRT use, but the cardiovascular risks appeared just a year or two on the drugs. (Journal of American Medical Association. )
HRT NEWS – AUGUST 2002 • WHI (Use of HRT) Research providing alarming findings: • 41 % increase in strokes • 29 % increase in heart attacks • 100 % increase risk of blood clots • 22 % increase in cardiovascular disease • 20 % increase in breast cancer
HRT NEWS –January 6, 2003 • FDA approves new Hormone Replacement Therapy warning label: • *Estrogen (from an outside source) has been added to list of known carcinogens*
HRT NEWS – May 28, 2003 • Hormone use linked to dementia • Women who take estrogen and progestin, face double the risk of developing dementia
HRT NEWS – May 28, 2003 Synthetic hormones raise the risk of strokes
Even with All the Bad Press and Known Side Effects The Traditional Medical Approach… • for hormone deficiency is still synthetic hormonal replacement therapy (HRT). • There is no taking into account that the healthy human body has organs that produce and balance hormones naturally, if given the proper environment.
• Human-made hormones mimic natural hormones; however, they are not bioidentical to natural-made hormones. • The body can break down and excrete natural plant (precursors) compounds, and use them to balance hormonal health. • (Herbalogica has three incredible products for this we’re about to review!) • Synthetic hormones are toxic and do not eliminate from the body.
Hormone Health • Your patients need to be educated that hormone health does not depend on using toxic doses of synthetic drugs to suppress symptoms.
Hormone Health • Like any aspect of health, hormone health is linked directly to having essential 100% nutrition, exercise, stress control, and detoxification to produce and metabolize hormones properly.
Hormone Health • Given the proper environment, the body is able to manufacture its own balanced hormones and stay at a healthy weight.
• Changing a toxic, unbalanced lifestyle into a cleansing, healthy lifestyle can start creating hormonal health and balance.
• As we go back in women’s history, before the 1960’s, they did not have to deal on a daily basis with a toxic environment.
• But by 1996, researchers had identified at least 51 synthetic chemicals that disrupt the hormonal balance system.
• These toxins increase the risk of breast cancer and cause thyroid, pituitary and gonadal dysfunction, as well as developmental defects in cellular reproduction.
• Hormone drugs are used in animal food. • Meat (beef, poultry, pork, and fish) that has been injected with or fed growth hormones, milk or milk products in which cows have been given growth hormone, or any other animal food source may contain hormones which alter the body’s hormone balance.

Hormones & Weight Loss Hormones are “chemical messengers” which are produced and secreted by numerous glands in the body.
Hormones & Weight Loss • Once a hormone is released into the bloodstream, as a result of a certain stimuli, it instructs target cells and/or glands to produce a particular substance (such as other hormones).
Hormones & Weight Loss • These hormones stimulate or inhibit the actions of cells everywhere, depending on the needs of the body.
Hormones & Weight Loss • Thus, although very different in their functions, different hormones are dependent on each other to produce a balanced chemical environment in the body.
Hormones & Weight Loss • For example, glands such as the ovaries, adrenals, pituitary and hypothalamus, produce and regulate levels of estrogen, progesterone, androgens.
• Causes fluid and salt Estrogen retention in the tissue to plump and fill skin • Causes growth of • Helps retain calcium sexual organs in the bones • Causes the lining of the uterus to thicken, • Has direct effect on endothelial lining of and endometrial blood vessels glands to develop and nourish a fertilized egg • Causes an increase in overall body fat which provides soft skin texture
Estrogen • Affects physiological functions of the body like blood sugar, emotional balance and memory • Has stimulatory effect on the nervous system. • High levels can trigger anxiety, irritability and mood swings. • Is used by the body for cellular growth and repair • Inhibits osteoclasts (the cells that tear down old bone) • Causes weight gain • Causes hot flashes when a shortage occurs • Is an anti-libido hormone
Progesterone • Stimulates secretory activity in the body • Acts as a sedative (calming effect) • Normalizes blood sugar level • Pressures all other steroid hormones, including estrogen and cortisol • Causes regression of tumors induced by estrogen • Stimulates osteoblasts, the cells that make new bone (bone formation) • Regulates metabolism, more efficient utilization of fat for energy • Opposes the effects of stress
Progesterone • Causes weight loss by improving the body’s efficiency in burning fuel for energy and eliminating fluids • Is a natural diuretic • Prevents stressinduced coronary disease • Is linked to delayed aging and longer lifespan • Balances estrogen to relieve hot flashes • Is a pro-libido hormone • Protects against cancer
Progesterone Enhances thyroid hormone Increases anti-depressant activity Blocks estrogen side-effects
Androgens (Male Testosterone Hormone) • Maintain sex drive • Maintain muscle strength • Maintain lean muscle mass • Maintain body weight • Regulate hair growth

• Because proper nutrition plays a vital role in balancing hormones, the Hormone Balancing Program eating guidelines are very strict. • They are the same as those in the Twelve-Week Weight Loss Program, unless they have Candida, then they’d do the Candida Twelve-Week Weight Loss Program. • The patients will do cleanses during the program and follow strict eating guidelines. • It’s important to try to get patients to eat organically grown produce and also meats without steroids when trying to balance hormones. • In the Hormone Balancing Program there additional supplements.
Hormone Pre-cursors • When introducing foods that are estrogen and progesterone precursors, the body doesn’t replace lost hormones with synthetics but instead stimulates the body to correct its own hormone imbalances. • In the case of menopausal symptoms, it is an imbalance, not a shortage that actually produces the symptoms. The body is trying to get back into balance.
PRECURSOR FOODS • • Flax Seed Evening Primrose Oil Yams Peas Cucumbers Bee Pollen Raw Nuts • • Papaya Bananas Licorice Root Raw Fruits and Vegetables Garlic Avocados Leafy Greens Seeds
Natural Herbal Supplementation • A growing body of evidence supports the use of natural herbal supplementation to offset some menopausalrelated symptoms. • By participating in a holistic hormone therapy program, patients can achieve a healthy balance of hormones no matter what their age is.
Hormone Supplementation • The difference between getting hormones from pills and animal products (that have been fed synthetic hormones), and those from plants, is that in plant form one simply ingests precursors. • The body utilizes and converts only what it needs, allowing for natural and healthy hormonal levels.
There are Three Products for Hormone Balancing • Hormone Balance • Wild Yam Cream • DHEA

DHEA • DHEA is an abbreviation for dehydroepiandrosteone. • This substance is called the mother hormone because it is the precursor to over 50 other hormones in the body. • It is produced in substantial amounts by the adrenal glands when healthy. • It is a much-needed substance to maintain youthful vigor and a LEAN BODY.
DHEA • Our endocrine (hormonal) system is virtually dependent on adequate levels of DHEA, but unfortunately, levels decrease as we age. • DHEA is the most common hormone in our bodies and is a natural steroid that is present in larger amounts in healthy individuals
DHEA • DHEA is also called the mother hormone by researchers because it is used by the body to manufacture many other hormones (including sex hormones) that are necessary for many body functions such as fat and mineral metabolism. • The body produces DHEA and then converts it on demand to other hormones
Importance of DHEA for Weight Loss • DHEA is a very effective “antiobesity” agent. • Increased DHEA appears to create a stabilizing effect on all body systems. • It can help overweight people to lose fat and underweight people to gain weight • Calories convert to heat rather than get stored as fat. • DHEA has been demonstrated to be beneficial in increasing muscle size while reducing fat.
Importance of DHEA for Weight Loss • One of the most exciting benefits of DHEA is the ability to burn fat and help a person lose weight plus keep it off by helping to build muscle. • It is a “thermogenic” substance because it helps burn calories for energy rather than store them as fat • DHEA’s ability to facilitate this burning of fat may become one of the most significant finds in weight control of this century!
Ingredients of Herbalogica’s DHEA • Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)-27 mg. pure pharmaceutical grade quality per capsule. For anti-aging, hormone balance, fatigue, and immune disorders. • Piper Nigrum Extract (Bioperine)-Maintains the normalcy of the digestive tract and helps in maintaining the proper peristaltic movement in the body Helps tone the respiratory tract and urinary tract.
